  • My Bio
  • Joe Mattern will tell you that not only is he ‘living his dreams’ each and every day thru his work, he truly IS a blessed man!

At age 9, Joe fell deeply in love with helicopters, after seeing a Bell Model 206A JetRanger helicopter pictured in a book about aircraft that he saw at a Walden Book Store. At age 12, Joe became the youngest fixed wing student pilot at his local airfield. At age 13, Joe saw his first (/\/\) MOTOROLA Black & White Microphone in a local corporate executive’s automobile and started to dream about one day working for MOTOROLA. Shortly before, Joe received a Bearcat IV Crystal Controlled Radio for Christmas. That very radio scanner prompted Joe at Age 16, to became a Volunteer Firefighter & Emergency Medical Technician in his local community of Horsham Township, Pennsylvania. In his early 20′s, Joe taught EMS Radio Communications Skills to his EMS Squad in Bucks County, Pennsylvania. While there, Joe developed a mobile tone encoder that allowed Paramedic Squads to make direct contact with hospitals while enroute, without the assistance of busy dispatchers. Next, Joe moved to North Carolina where he became a Nationally Certified Air Medical Helicopter Flight Dispatcher in 1988, graduating from the very first class. In 2009, Joe was hired by David MacDonald, President of RADIO ONE for his marketing abilities and talents, thus accomplishing his dream of one day working for (/\/\) MOTOROLA. In 2010, Joe launched ‘Mattern Media’ which unleashed his true Marketing and Sales Potential. Joe still loves helicopters to this very day and charters VIP helicopters on occasion, which makes him feel ‘on top of the world’. Today, Joe continues to build his company’s success upon the foundation of providing his customers with both exceptional customer service and superior networking skills.

In March of 2015, Mattern Media was afforded the opportunity to become the foundational member of the newly developed Evolux UltraLux VIP Member Program. As a result, Joe now had access to ‘on demand VIP helicopter charter’ and special event opportunities that few may ever experience in their lifetime. On this historic day, Joe tweeted: #SkyLimo Mattern Media is proud to be the very first #EVOLUX #UltraLux VIP member.

In January of 2016, Mattern Media became one of the very first investors in XTI Aircraft and the TriFan 600. Merging advanced, proven technologies, this six-seat, vertical takeoff and landing airplane is designed to fly as fast, as high above predominant weather, and as far as other business jets, to more places and with shorter travel times. No traditional jet, helicopter or other aircraft can offer the same world of possibilities, because not one of them can provide true door-to-door travel with the speed, range or operational flexibility needed for true efficiency.

  • Today, I completed my first Lake Swim EVER at Lucky's Lake Swim with Robert Long & Jay Madigan. At 480 pounds, I may be the heaviest person to ever complete this crossing. I prepared for the swim by swimming laps at Florida Hospital Celebration in a 88 foot lap lane, swimming 75 laps a session. It was for this very reason, I finished my first lake swim with 80% physical energy remaining. It was one of the best days of my life, regarding achievement.
